Mucky Mountains Morris

Who are we?

Mucky Mountains Morris are a morris side based around St Helens in Merseyside. Our dances are mainly in the Cotswold and Border traditions. We enjoy ourselves immensely, dancing at local events, pubs, days of dance and folk gatherings in the North West and beyond. From September to April we have a practice session almost every Thursday night.

If you fancy trying morris dancing, come along and have a go at learning how it’s done!

See our events list for where we are dancing next, our contact page to get in touch, our gallery for some photos, and our non-events list for other stuff.

Performances in 2016

The dancing season is now under way. We will be performing at some of our favourite venues and also at some new ones. Please come and watch one of our forthcoming events!

We shall be holding our Weekend of Dance in the St Helens area at the beginning of October.

Twenty-fifth Anniversary 2015

We celebrated our 25th Anniversary in 2015, including a Weekend of Dance over the weekend of 31st July to 2nd August, with guests from other morris sides. Our main performance was at the Albert Dock, unfortunately curtailed by very heavy showers!

As usual, we performed at a wide range of events. We regularly join Yorkshire Coast Morris for their weekend of dance, and in Scarborough in July 2015 we were again awarded their Gordon Crowther Memorial Staff for The Spirit of the Dance.

Community and charity

We are always keen to support local community events and charities. See our events list and dancers’ links for some of the causes we’ve supported.

In case you’re unsure of our name, we’re Mucky Mountains Morris, not Mucky Mountain Morris or Mucky Mountains Morris Men!
